About

Motion ingrained.

Hey there. I’m a * designer where (*) is wildcard character representing everything other than graphic.

Steve Yang

My background in chemistry (and earth science).

I’ve loved chemistry for the longest while now, doing synthesis and gravimetric analysis reactions with my iPhone blasting ELIO’s hit song “Charger” on repeat.

It’s really the inexplicable ability to turn nothing into something that drew me to chemistry - and design as well.

The story of a high school junior’s quest for adventure, self-discovery, and web development.

Web development.

It wasn’t until I learned (actually relearned) the basics of HTML/CSS that I could turn my designs into reality by myself.

I found rapidly how satisfying it is to turn a design, completely generated by yourself, into reality, much like entrepreneurship and starting my own business.

I make some horrendous designs.

Venturing into the field of design to create a website for my fledgling organization, I watched a bunch of youtube videos and slapped pixels together, hoping for the best.

Despite the complete lack of visual appeal or even a basic call to action button, it was really the first time I did something that wasn’t theoretical.

The other half of my life.

If you look often enough, you might happen to catch me running the streets of Cupertino for my school’s track and cross country team.

In addition to running, I love to bike as well as finding discounts for fruits.

The future for me.

During university I might study something similar to Interaction Design or even continue my chemistry work.

Ultimately, it’s equally likely to be possible that I might find another passion within the few years I have left in high school, and I’ll go into that field.
